DreamHack Atlanta at Georgia World Congress Center

Your Esports Summit pass includes Saturday and Sunday access to DreamHack Atlanta, the largest gaming LAN event and gaming festival in North America.  This event is hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta and Summit attendees are responsible for transportation to that festival if they wish to attend on Saturday and/or Sunday.

City officials, state officials, VIPs and the media gather to recognize Esports Week in Atlanta and welcome back the global festival DreamHack, marking its first in-person iteration in the city since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Growing a Global Esports Community
Noon Thursday

NASEF, the global non-profit for scholastic esports, presents a conversation between Scholastic Fellows, Mentors, and Community Leaders sharing perspectives from educators around the world on the successes, challenges, and best practices in using gaming and esports as a vehicle for learning and intentional play.

Hear directly from student scholars and competitors about why they are so passionate about esports

Bringing the HBCU League to Twitch
11am Friday

Executive leadership from Twitch.TV, the non-profit Cxmmunity, their production partner Skillshot and brand partners speak to the origin and continued growth of the  first and most successful competitive league for the nation's historically black colleges & universities (HBCUs). The HBCU Esports League is entering into it’s third season with partners such as Verizon, Discover, Nestlé - Hot Pockets, and Nike/House of Hoops.

Traditional Sports Leagues, Chasing GenZ Where It Plays
2pm Friday

Hear directly from Major League Soccer, the Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Hawks about their initiatives to engage with esports and gaming to reach the next generation and cultivate fans.  This session moderated by Dr. Michael Lewis, Professor of Marketing at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, who studies brand equity in sports and researches fandom.

Game Publishers Speak, Making Games Is Harder Than You Think
3pm Friday

Game publishers (Ubisoft, Warner Bros, and Hi-Rez Studios) the IP owners and power players in the gaming and esports ecosystem, open up about the challenges of developing multiplayer games that are enjoyed by millions and played competitively by passionate amateurs and pros alike.

Esports Summit Legacy Award
4:30pm Friday

With the inaugural Esports Summit Legacy Award we recognize an exceptional individual who has made a lifelong positive impact, connecting Play With Learning while leveraging technology and inspiring young minds.  

Lights, Camera, Action - LIVE Esports Matches, Production and Behind The Scenes
5:00pm Friday

This showcase will be feature competition and also an experiential and up close look at the many careers and pathways involved in the esports industry:

  • A live high school esports competition in Knockout City -- between between the New Jersey Garden State Esports team who travelled to Atlanta to take on Georgia!
  • A live collegiate esports competition in Rocket League -- the Fall Finals of the Georgia Esports League!
  • Both games with commentary and analysis by college students training to work in the esports industry and
  • Behind the scenes tours of the production studio, equipment and staff enabling the live broadcast.
